A GUIDE TO THE RELIGIONS OF AMERICA

The Look magazine series on religion,- with supplementary information on doctrines and beliefs, facts and figures, church membership and the clergy, public opinion polis, church holy days and headquarters of denominations, this should prove an exceedingly useful reference book. Few will find it the sort of book for consecutive reading; many will find adequate answers for their needs in learning what are the basic tenets of religious beliefs in America. Included are the main Protestant denominations, Catholics and Jews, so that most of us can learn something about the faith of our neighbors. Each article is done by a responsible representative- primarily at the ministerial or leadership level- of the church in question, and aims to answer those questions basic to better understanding of the creed, forms and opinions on such salient issues as divorce, birth control, relation to the state, and so on. The articles ran over three years, and are here in some instances expanded.
