A BOAT FOR PEPPE

Another regional story -- this time about Peppe, the Sicilian boy who lives in old Monterey in California. More than anything else Peppe wanted a boat of his own. As he watches the fishermen with their nets and visits old Geramia who tells fine stories about the sea, he yearns to sail his boat in the sea. Soon there is the beautiful festival of Saint Rosslia and Peppe is presented with a lovely toy boat. Again the delicate, atmospheric pictures by the author. Lovely but static -- limited in appeal.
