HURRICANE HENRIETTA

Young Hurricane Henrietta has the longest hair in Bald Eagle Falls and she prides herself so much on her long, flowing mane that she refuses to cut it. But while people admire her long locks, over the years her hair has become a nuisance, swarming innocent bystanders, alarming animals, and collecting objects at every turn. Henrietta agrees to a cut when her hair causes pandemonium in a local beauty salon; she loses enough hair to start a wig business, but gains the understanding that the hair doesn't make the girl. The story is amusing, with wildly exaggerated illustrations; readers will enjoy the tale and some of the text's poetic moments, e.g., ""Henrietta's hungry hair.
