HOW GOD FIX JONAH

The childlike charm of the primitive, the rhythmic cadence of the African which is so close to our Negro spiritual, in these tribal renditions of the Bible as recorded by a former missionary. Here is the Christian imprint on the folklore of the pagan, as today they retell the stories of Jonah, Noah, Semson who was ""weak for woman palaver"", David ""he no fear"", Lot's wife and Esther, Esau, Joshua, etc. With decorative wood engravings by Letterio Calapai, this should make a lovely book though one questions if it is general enough for a gift market.
