A TREASURY OF LAUGHTER

The biggest collection of the best in humor- it runs close to 1200 pages -- has more than 100 illustrations- and is a compilation ranging from stories to poems, jokes, bon mots, anecdotes, all in catholic, time-tested taste. There are examples of the past from Thackeray and Lewis Carroll, to Ring Lardner and Don Marquis; there are contemporaries such as FPA, Dorothy Parker, Thurber, Perelman, etc. There is little satire, as this is levity en masse for the masses.
