DR. FINNESON ON LOW BACK PAIN
by ‧RELEASE DATE: Oct. 29, 1975
There have been a number of indiscriminately just all right to negligible books about this problem as old as Homo erectus when he took to walking on two legs; Dr. Finneson, the author of a substantial text book, is a neurosurgeon and has established a clinic near Philadelphia. He discusses fully the organic and the psychogenic problems; special conditions (osteoporosis, lumbosacralstrain); the vogueish slipped disk (surgery only as a last recourse), arthritis and tumors, and various diagnostic and curative measures. He contraindicates high heels, corsets (except for limited usage) and acupuncture; he's favorable toward the new chymopapain (an enzyme which comes from the papaya tree) and he's most sound and helpful on home remedies and preventatives, including exercise which must be done daily or not at all. The most advanced and informative book to date on that commonest of afflictions.
