GUNNER AND THE DUMBO

A simple, direct story of Gunner, mascot dog, and a B-25 crew, on a bombing mission in the Pacific. Gunner comes into his own when the plans is forced down and the crew takes to rubber boats. His sensitive ears detect the approach of enemy fighters in time for the men to conceal themselves, and the story ends happily with the rescue of all by a Dumbo (a naval patrol plane). Vivid illustrations combine with a story content that has more substance than the average third to fifth grade reader material. Good sales appeal.
