In photographs and text, the story is told of the Nisei who fought for the land they considered their own, who fought and died-600 of them; who were wounded and totalled an incredible number of medals and awards. The text traces their activation, basic training (in drafty, crude quarters), their unit training, and action overseas- the mountains of Italy and France. It is lively reading, lots of drama, without overdramatizing the story, concise without stripping it of color and detail, and accurate in showing them as American boys doing a swell job of team work and play. Excellent photographs. One of the best unit records in book form that we've seen.
