BRIGHT MORNING

Although this would be easy for girls to read to themselves, it has been placed in this section because it would be such fun for mothers to try it aloud. It has a nostalgic charm and is a perfect picture of life in a comfortable Victorian family who live in London. Chris and Emmie have a wonderful Nanny who takes them to the seashore, where they live in a boardinghouse, go bathing from old-fashioned machines and gather shells. When the children go home they find a baby sister has arrived. Nanny's metamorphosis into Miss Gateshead when traveling will delight adults.
