A misleading title confines this- perhaps unfairly, for actually this is a quite inclusive survey of chronic disease, its controls as well as after-care. And so, in each case, you have not only the definition and diagnosis of the particular disease or disorder, but also the drugs and surgery which may be used, as well as the diet, rest, and rehabilitative assistance which will follow along with the restrictions- if any. Heart and high blood pressure; rheumatism and arthritis; after cancer surgery; diabetes; ulcers; tuberculosis; allergies; diseases of the central nervous system and of the musculoskeletal system; mental and emotional disorders; old age- all make the rounds of most of the ills to which the flesh is heir- and offers a helpful re-orientation for the patient and his family.
