MY AMERICAN HERITAGE

A family collection, this, of everybody's favorites, prose and verse, from the annals of American writing. The sophisticates will dub it corny, in all probability- but even they will confess it good corn. There is no attempt to be literary, but the inclusions- some complete, some selected from longer works --will take every reader of adult years back to school readers, auditorium programs, various scenes of nostalgic recall. Quotations half remembered will come to light, sources identified when memory tricks one. An index of authors, titles and first lines makes it a useful reference book.
