ZOO IN THE HOUSE

A long, long story about a little girl whose father objects to finding a turtle in the shower, a snake slithering across the kitchen floor, especially a porcupine in the dark of night, and decrees that all the wild pets must go; which they do, without looking back--but she can feed them and maybe have a tame pet in the house. If this were less tiresome and less awkwardly drawn it might be worth pointing out implausible details like expecting a snake to survive, or stay, in a tiny jar.
