THE YOUNG BILLINGS OF RUCKHORN

Sandra James has illustrated this attractive looking book which is based on fact. There is actually a family of children in the highlands of the Canadian divide, who run their own little farm, as they are motherless and the father is off lumbering almost all the time. The author lives near them and has watched them carefully. In this story the six Billings children get into serious trouble when two scoundrels run a secret saw-mill in the farm woods and try to push the youngsters out. They cope with their exciting problems with as much courage as they have shown in their daily chores.
