FIRST STEPS

Not literally ""first steps"" unless one considers that even in animal world there are ""first steps"" in play, in hearing, as well as in walking. This is a toy book -- a something-to-do book, with alternate pictures having pull-outs that give motion to the figures in the picture. The mother duck summons the ducklings, and they take their first steps; tiny chicks run, lambs play, and so on. Cunning pictures by Hildegard L. Hopkins in full color. Impractical for anything but home consumption.
