WINTERS MISCHIEF

Little Clemency puts through a successful first year at Plainfield, a co-ed boarding-school in Pennsylvania. An excellent girls' book with enough excitement, good repartee and a good group of characters, ""Larks"", who has gotten off on the wrong foot; Nora, a pretty, well-balanced senior; Anny, a frightened Austrian refugee; Lydia, a boyish, clever, opinionated room-mate. Much mischief is created by ""Borneo"", a traditional spook who does many mean and annoying pranks, but whose attitude improves as Spring comes on. The faculty members seem particularly attractive.
