WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT ANDREW?

At first Andrew's parents pretend not to notice when he starts flying around, and at school when he turns into a hippopotamus his teacher's response is to give him an A for his description of a large animal. Finally his parents express their concern; Andrew flies off to think about the problem; and the parents worry so much about his absence that when he returns they accept him, weird talents and all. Sharmat's combination of whimsical fantasy and formula psychology might have more than twice the strength that either strain would have separately, but it's still pretty earthbound. And the limited color range of Cruz' everyday settings merely underscores the ordinariness.
