This is another collection of the script of the discussions put on over Columbia Broadcasting System. The collection includes 32 books in the fields of poetry, drama, philosophy, history, biography, politics, society and fiction -- programs between November, 1941 and June, 1942. Introductory material, editorial notes and brief biographies give this book a permanent value, beyond even the text of the discussions, which are surprisingly good reading, and which cover a wide range of time and place. Superficial, perhaps, but not as superficial as the average book review. And I feel that here is demonstrable evidence of ""how to read a book"" for the general reader.
