SADDLEBAGS FOR SUITCASES

Very personal record of a 3,000 mile horsebag ride -- a sort of feminine Tschieffly's Ride as the daughter of an English consular family starts from Vancouver for Montreal. This is a picture of the trails, mountains, canyons, ranches, snow belts and dry belts, lakes and forests; about the houses where she stayed, the people she met, the glare of publicity, the new world customs, the accidents that befell her. She did some lecturing en route. And she met people of all nations. War shadows fell -- and she rode on to New York and left for England and war work. Nice job.
