First you find the story of St. Nicholas himself; then you learn of the customs in Holland; then in New Amsterdam, where the English gradually picked up the habits. The word changed from Sinter Klass to Santa Claus; they hung up stockings instead of putting out wooden shoes. Towards the end of this book you learn about Clement C. Moors and find his famous poem.
