A CLEAR PLACE IN THE SKY

A second, friendly story of the Florida back country applies neighborliness, and romance, as a restorative to damaged lives when Jeffrey Leland, a war casualty, takes over a dying Florida mango grove which had belonged to a friend who had been killed. With his wife, Maggie, he befriends Colin Minton, whose quiet, lonely retreat hides her past as a brilliant concert pianist which was interrupted by a psychosomatic injury to her hand-- and also Miss Lutie Gillis, said to be queer in her unforgiving grief for the son killed in Korea. Mark Baroon, a pilot, crach lands there and collaborates with them in saving Jeff's grove, which a hurricane threatens, in straightening out Miss Lutie, and in returning Celia to her music as he wins her love..... For loan collections, an agreeable acquisition.
