DEEDO AND FAWNY

A lovely looking book, but there is nothing juvenile about it. Perhaps the young artist is too near -- and yet not near enough -- to have the perspective on the child response to the lovely decorative quality of her misted outlines and soft colors in crayon. The book seems too big -- an outsize picture book format -- for small arms to manage. The story tells of two little deer and their friends of the woods.
