OVER THE BIG HILL: A Betsy Tacy Story

Many girls already love the group of little girls who lived in Deep Valley, Minnesota, about 1902. These books are good stories. Betsy Tacy and Tib are just ten, in fact, the former has her birthday in this volume. The papers are full of the sixteen-year old King Alphonso XIII of Spain. So romantic does he seem in print that the little girls fancy themselves in love with him. After the school entertainment, they set their minds on who is to be crowned ""Queen of the Summer"". After many arguments a smart father suggests that they elect a girl of blood royal. This is Naifi, a little Syrian from the settlement over the big hill.
