ACTION AGAINST THE ENEMY'S MIND

Required reading for men, particularly, who want a straightforward factual textbooky account of Hitler's propaganda, how it works, how it is planned, what he hopes it will accomplish -- and what we should do about it. There is no attempt to lighten the record by human interest or anecdotal material, but the facts are marshalled and the arguments put forward succinctly. An introductory section presents three documents:- National Socialism's 25 Points, The Atlantic Charter, The Declaration of Independence. The authors then proceed to analyze the methods by which Europe was paralyzed, and the aims for similar results here, through emphasis on anti-Semitism and German-Americanise. The work of the fifth column is discussed in some detail. Part II discusses the weak spots in the USA, distorted isolationism (as distinguished from honest isolationism); fear of Communism, anti -Semitism, race and minority problems, labor problems, doubt of our allies. Constructive suggestions for combatting these forces and a plea for constructive action close the argument. Excellent material; uninspired presentation.
