SURPRISE FOR PETER POCKET

Another Peter Pocket story with the familiar Tennessee mountain background that May Justus has made her own. Peter --a bit older than in Peter Pocket and His Pickle Pup, has good times at the mission school, and at home with Granny Messer. But the very special thing that happens is the discovery of treasure trove in the songs his father had left behind years before, when Peter, as a baby, was left with Granny. Peter learns the songs (words and music appear in the text), and later, when a new teacher recognizes their worth, Peter's reward is in their publication.
