WHAT SO PROUDLY WE HAIL

Another diverting grabbag from Mrs. Krythe whose ""All About's"" (Christmas, American Holidays, The Months) are popular round about libraries, schoolrooms, guest tables, etc. This time our national symbols and monuments have their hour or two-the American flag, Great Seal, American eagle, Uncle Sam, Liberty Bell, Statue of Liberty, Capital, White House, etc. Written in the style of the better tourist guides-a bubbling rivulet of fact and gently debunked myth this patriotic entertainment has something to fill any conversation lag. Alas, no small boy called out. ""Ring, Grandpa for Liberty!"" and the honored bell pealed on July 8th, of all things. The Great Seal of the United States, from which seven dies have been cast, the latest in 1903, may be seen in the State Department Building; and the ghosts of Abigail Adams and Dolly Madison have been sighted cruising through the White House and grounds. All ye need to know about our sacred relies-and a bit more. Predictable audience.
