THE VILLAGE OF SINGING BIRDS

Tito lived with his poverty-stricken family in a ruined convent in Antigua. Like Pico in the Macrae-Smith book reviewed in this issue, he wished to go back to his family's mountain village. This story seems a trifle younger and has lovely descriptions of Tito's love of birds. His kindness to them is a factor in finding his ancestral village.
