THE THIRD TRUTH

Paris-based Israeli correspondent's first foreign intrigue novel is as hotfooted as any you will read -- proceeding from a Soviet Foreign Minister's murder to just what happened on Block 13 in Dachau which sets in motion the small pogrom with which this is concerned. But having gotten down to the only too literal crunch, Mr. Bar-Zohar goes on with the second truth (switch) and third (an extortionate reverse) which suggests that having expedited his story very well, he should just apply a little moderation. Jeff Saunders handles this for the C.I.A. and that invisible government should now want to bury itself under the nearest stone.
