Answering an ad for trainee-assistant to the owner-pilot of Kylie's Air Taxi Service, sixteen-year-old Nick Stringer is borne along, and aloft, by mystery mogul Joseph Tasker's demand for instant transport to destination unspecified. What starts as a dry run for Nick becomes slippery business (there's Big Money involved) and a station-hopping tour of Australia from Melbourne to the northwest coast. The tension dissolves in explanation of an oil-drilling operation (Tasker had a clear-and-present reason for being in a hurry) and you're left looking at the scenery, which goes far but not far enough.
