UNDERWATER ZOOS

An author who has made scientific venture a delight for children now invites them to relish the wonders of underwater zoos (really aquariums). Whether a child lives near the seashore or far inland near fresh water ponds and lakes, he is instructed in gathering specimens, in how to recognize them and in the habits of those he will find. Kathleen Elgin's precise black and white illustrations are most helpful. Specific steps in setting up and caring for underwater zoos, both fresh and salt water, are clear enough for any child in this age group to follow ably. The author strikes an ideal balance between fact presentation and encouragement of individual discovery.
