SECOND CAR IN TOWN

Ellen Walker's first auto ride. a proud and crowded 20-mph outing, is climaxed when father's new car gets stuck in the mud because a pig is lying across the road. Knickers and dusters and Oooogahs and ""what in tarnations"" supply the period background for a story that's no blander than most easy readers. . . but beginners can find more powerful vehicles on the picture book shelf.
