The book captures the desperation and heroism of this effort, a combination of religious, political and military interests. Women and children were on the front lines, people gave flowers to Marcos' soldiers, and through determined unity they surmounted great difficulties. To see the faces of these fighters and read about their exploits is a moving experience. Eventually troops mutinied, Marcos decamped, and the people led by Corazon Aquino triumphed. Better than the media coverage of this event. Uplifting, too.
