An encyclopedia dealing with the emotional problems of children's growth, this has been prepared by a psychologist and teacher and presented is an easily useful form, alphabetically by topic and where necessary with cross-references. There are more than 100 problems under discussion- from adoption, allowances bedtime, city living, cleanliness, comics, to dawdling, dental care, divorce, fears, the middle child, nagging, pregnancy, sex education, tantrums, thumb sucking, etc. The approach is enlightened, the concern largely with the younger child (say under 3 or )- but there is not much new information-wise for the parent familiar with (and what parent isn't) Dr. Spock or say, the Ilg & Ames Child Rehar. The market however may be more absorbent than we think.
