Another entertaining, brilliantly illustrated ""why"" story from the creators of Hot Hippo (1986) and other modern fables. Lion orders each of several animals--ants. weaver birds, honey badger, etc.--to build him a house, but every house is more satisfactory for its builder than for him; when the rain comes, he must live and endure in the open--as he still does. Hadithi's well-honed cadence and Kennaway's sly humor, bold forms, and striking use of rich color should make this a storytelling favorite.
