ANOTHER SKY

A pleasant ugly-duckling romance, set in the early 1820's, of two cousins- Quincy French, the narrator, gawky, imaginative and (she says) ugly, and Annis Profitt, beautiful, cold and religious. On their way to Hawaii to meet Annis' missionary finance, Quincy falls in love with the captain of their ship, Mungo Clark, though she feels he likes Annis better. All, however, turns out for the best after the girls are settled in Hawaii and after Clark returns from yet another voyage. Well written.
