THE BUTTERFLY COLLECTOR

An intrepid, single-minded butterfly collector sets out in search of ""that last missing butterfly"" which would fill out his collection--and finds instead a boy (""The Butterfly Boy"") who teaches him, via a didactic, rhymed ""riddle,"" that it is better to give (information about butterflies) than to take (the life of every butterfly there is). A flat, stale, and simple-minded fable with no redeeming flourishes, despite moderately sprightly illustrations.
