BASS TACKLE AND TACTICS

A plea for ""better sport through the use of lighter tackle"" -- this is a book devoted to the use of lighter lures for black bass. Where the Gasque book on Bass Fishing (P. 287) is a very personal record of a famous fisherman whose experience is largely in the Carolinas, this author bases his conclusions on experiences in northern Wisconsin, experimenting on lake and stream with the urge to improve the sport. He talks of bass and base waters, of casting reds and fly on tackle and technique, on night angling, wading gear, hooking and playing fish, and bait casting. Both text and illustrations (diagrams and photographs) have how-to-do-it value.
