JEAN'S WHALE

Jean, a French fisherman, goes out one day for a routine catch and comes home with an extraordinary one in this short whale of a tale. Out in their small boats, Jean and his partner have bad luck at first. They lose a haul when a blue whale nearly upsets them, but along with some companions, they beat the water with their oars until the whale is driven on to the beach of their harbour. Robust red and green pictures by the author are a spirited showing of fishermen at work. Good Hogner.
