A PAYOFF IN SWITZERLAND

Another tourist-class expedition for Jonathan Gaunt of Scotland's troubleshooting Office of the Remembrancer: which car in a ""Safari Suisse"" group ferry-driving from Edinburgh to Montreux is smuggling currency? The crossing details at Dover are intriguing, and there's map-reading appeal all along the way--but the spurts of violence, the kidnaping, the passwords, and the blob of romance (widowed old flame is on the Safari for secret reason) are as inevitable and unimaginative as that title.
