THE THREE FRIENDS

The story of three ""gentlemen of the road"" -- one a successful man, the other two failures, each in his own way. Bombast cloaks failure in one -- timidity proclaims it in the other. Sidelights on England's provinces -- on behind the scenes in a drummer's life -- of the lower middle classes, pathetic and comic and human all at once. The plot is ephemeral -- the tempo recalls parts of Angel Pavement.
