Many of us who listened to this radio series, plays in brief focussing attention on the war, in Europe, in Asia, in America, felt that there was an almost hysterical note throughout. In reading the scripts, however, they seem revealing and sane. Perhaps the sound effects gave the other impression! Famous dramatists and script writers have made their contribution to the war effort, in these texts, here collected in book form. Just what the market is for these collections I do not know. Perhaps it overlaps the market for published plays of other types.
