ONCE, LONG AGO; A STAR SHONE; THINE IS THE GLORY; GROWING PAINS

A graded series of religious readers, the first two, for pre-school children, are short retellings of familiar Bible stories, Once, Long Ago- stories from the Old Testament; A Star Shone-stories from the Gospels. Original versions, following the stories but not the text of the King James version. Thine Is The Glory, for children of first and second grade reading level, is a thoughtful study of the Lord's Prayer, applied to modern needs and conceptions. Growing Pains touches on some fundamental problems and the Christian approach to understanding and handling of them. Reverent without being stuffy, they are particularly successful in the casual, effortless treatment of the race question. All four books should prove good additions to Protestant Sunday School libraries. Good choices for end of Lent and Easter gifts.
