GUIDE POSTS

Guide Posts"" is the name given to a series of modern religious tracts being published under the sponsorship of a number of business and professional men who believe that the problem of America and the world can only be solved as we recapture a vital religious faith and make it work. This volume gives us a sampling of recently published tracts. The authors are of various creeds,- Catholic, Protestant and Jewish- and are men and women prominent in many walks of life. Outstanding figures in sports like Gene Tunney and Gil Dodds take their places along side of columnists like George Sokolsky and H.I. Phillips; radio commentators, Henry J. Taylor, Fulton Cursler and Lowell Thomas; business men such as J.C. Penney and Roger Babson; labor leaders such as William Green and John Ramsey. Only one or two preachers are included, but these laymen are good preachers. Their sermons are interesting, practical and brief. Their themes include: ""Throwing off Your Feare,"" ""Prayer in Time of Need,"" ""Your Happiness Formula,"" ""Inspiration from Monday through Saturday,"" ""Improving Your Community"". This is a book to be recommended for ""devotional reading"" to those who would shy away from ordinary devotional literature, but would find that these up-to-date tracts ""speak their language.
