THE EMPTY HOUSE MYSTERY

Ted Wilson is given a giant dose of printer's ink following graduation from High School when Mr. Dobson, editor of the Town a local small town newspaper, is hospitalized. Ted finds personal challenge from Carl Allison, a staff writer on the paper, and friendly rivalry with Ken Kutler, reporter on another local paper. A will-o'-the-wisp trail of clues following an innocuous newspaper ad for a missing zippered notebook leads Ted to rendezvous in empty houses and to the solution to the mystery of missing highway department plans. This is a sound portrayal of a newspaper cub in pursuit of a story.
