THUNDER BIRDS

Simultaneous book and moving picture follow-up for Yank in the R A F; custom-made Hollywood pop. The story of Peter Stackpole, a doctor, whose brother and father were killed flying for England, and who is determined to take over where they left off, to overcome a lifelong terror of height. He takes his training in Thunderbird, Arizona, under an old barn stormer and crack flier, Steve Britt, who quickly recognizes his problem, and sets about curing him. He succeeds in whitewashing Peter in front of his superiors, he risks his own life to prove that Peter can fly, and he bears no grudge when Peter annexes his girl....There'll be lots of this ilk -- and better ones.
