LETTERS OF OSWALD SPENGLER

The author of The Decline of the West was not one of the masters of letter writing. He came to this task dutifully, and through his lifetime corresponded with hundreds of persons including those distinguished in learning, industry, politics. The letters published chronologically here include ""Only those which seem to fulfil the purpose of characterizing Spengler as a man, or of illustrating his intellectual development and his political activity, or which throw light on the history and psychology of his time."" They are mainly of interest in the realm of political history and will not extend beyond it to a general readership.
