When first seen drifting around Durban, South Africa, in the extortionate employ of a diamond and drug smuggler, or in the sack with an enthusiasm which does not seem to satiate her sexual appetence -- Elaine Somers, whose father is a Senator, a U.S. Senator, is either naked or barely dressed. Toward the close after a long criminal trial (the man she'd been in bed with, a black, had been murdered by her side) she is seen wearing a navyblue dress and a white hat which must surely indicate the extent of her transmogrification. Via the love of a good man -- the prosecutor no less who withdraws from the case convinced of her innocence and experiencing the ""purest love"" for her, now reciprocated, too late, too late. . . . A fatuously trashy book, up for cheap grabs -- no doubt paperback.
