A FAIR EXCHANGE

When Derek Almourn, First Secretary of the British Embassy in Washington, weds Lynn Charlton, the outspoken daughter of a U.S. Senator, the dream match has nightmarish repercussions. First, the two are roughed up and mugged in their own D.C. garage. Then, a diplomatic post switch to Oslo nets more unpleasantness--she's fed some LSD and he's nearly drowned. The inexplicable mishaps seem to be connected with Lynn's anti-war activist friend Virginia Urse as well as with an ominous gift-bearing character named Bruno. Derek cannot help but ""flounder on"" until his wife turns a NATO visit to the Russo-Norwegian border into a sticky international incident. Entertaining intrigue fair and square by the author of Climate for Conspiracy.
