THE GLORY OF THE GARDEN

An author who has a loyal following in the readers of her inspirational books of verse and meditation here shares with those readers her thoughts on her garden in southern England, as she traces its pattern throughout the year. An almanac of the seasons, day by day record of the closing in of winter, the companionship of birds, the first signs of spring, the earliest flowers, the color, the tumult of the advancing season, the turn of the year as fall comes in and then winter again. Intimate bits about her own garden (but rarely a sense of participation in its growing, simply a sharing of its quiet beauties). Spiritual response, and emotional -- in moods that the reader will reflect. There's tranquility here that should soothe troubled hearts in troubled days.
