NARROW EXIT

The exit to which you'll run, not walk, is another one of those combustible Arab-Israeli incidents when three men are sent to Tunis to protect the cover of leading Israeli agent Alex Gauthier and effect the kidnapping of a terrorist leader, Al Houaranni. Houaranni is taken and too hurriedly shot with Gauthier's life as the inevitable reprisal -- in spite of the efforts of his now repentant wife. The background is well done -- Tunis all flies and fatalism and ""odeurs pauvres"" and while Le Carte is perhaps an overreaching comparison, this is not just another reconstituted version of the book you read last week; Henissart writes well ahead of his opposite numbers.
