THE THEORY OF CAPITALISTIC DEVELOPMENT

Reasonably comprehensive analytical study of Marzian Political Economy, liberally fortified with quotations chiefly from Marx, but also from Hilferding and others. I confess to have found it pretty heavy going, pedagogical and didactic in presentation, though compassing the moot questions which present day developments have raised in regard to Marx's prescience and constructive value. For example,he discusses- in relation to Marxianism such controversial points as chronic depressions, development of monopoly capitalism, Fascism and other forms of totalitarianism. He sees the post-war solution in a Socialistic society freed of capitalistic influence, holding the reality of political power, without revolution, and liberal reform achieved through a mass party.
